D. Thesis. My work was nominated as an outstanding thesis by Pontificia Universidad Cat\u00f3lica de Chile.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It presents insights into the phenomena of lithium-rich red giant stars by proposing a new, mass-dependent criteria for lithium-richness, opening up new avenues of research, and it gives a partial explanation of the anomalous ubiquity of lithium-rich red giant stars.
