In this book, I published my Ph. D. Thesis. My work was nominated as an outstanding thesis by Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
It presents insights into the phenomena of lithium-rich red giant stars by proposing a new, mass-dependent criteria for lithium-richness, opening up new avenues of research, and it gives a partial explanation of the anomalous ubiquity of lithium-rich red giant stars. The book also presents interesting observational applications and samples with which to test this new approach to the problem of Li enrichment in giants.
